As a Back-End Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the systems and services that power our products and platforms.This role is designed for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for building reliable, secure, and scalable backend solutions. You will collaborate closely with front-end engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop robust APIs, optimize system performance, and ensure the stability of our applications as Octane continues to grow.What You'll Be DoingDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.Build and optimize server-side applications, databases, and system architecture.Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure seamless integration between client and server components.Develop secure, efficient, and reliable solutions that support business needs.Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve application performance and system reliability.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions and knowledge sharing.Implement testing strategies to ensure application quality and stability.Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and development practices.Key Areas of OwnershipBack-End Development & ArchitectureAPI Design & IntegrationDatabase Design & OptimizationPerformance, Security & ScalabilityCross-Functional CollaborationContinuous Improvement & InnovationWhat We're Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field4–7 years of experience in back-end developmentStrong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or C#Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservicesStrong understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modelingExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudFamiliarity with containerization and deployment tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skillsUnderstanding of security best practices and scalable system designAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesStrong communication and teamwork skillsDetail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about building reliable backend systemsIf you're excited to join a fast-growing company and build impactful technology solutions, we'd love to hear from you.Send us your updated resume to hr@octane-tech.io with the subject line "Back-End Engineer".
