UNV Assignment - EgyptContextUNICEF’s work in Egypt focuses on promoting sustainable development through a multidimensional equity approach that ensures a fair chance for every child. Aligned with country priorities, the programme emphasizes Early Childhood Development, bridging the first 1,000 days with the early years of formal education. This integrated approach addresses multiple risks faced by children through cross-sectoral linkages and contributes to country priorities, the 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy, and the United Nations Partnership for Development Framework (UNPDF 2018–2022).The programme also strengthens the evidence base for more child-sensitive social protection while improving the core elements of early childhood development: health, nutrition, and overall development outcomes. UNICEF’s interventions in learning and protection extend to children of all ages, with a targeted focus on the most vulnerable groups, including children with disabilities and female adolescents.This UNV assignment supports UNICEF’s Child Protection System Strengthening (CPSS) Programme, advancing child rights and human rights, including the implementation and follow-up of recommendations from the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. Working closely with key stakeholders such as the Country Council for Childhood and Motherhood, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, and other partners, the UN Volunteer will contribute to enhanced coordination, technical follow-up, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring of commitments related to child protection system reform.Description of DutiesSupport coordination and follow up on implementation of CRC recommendations and child rights commitments.Assist in maintaining communication and coordination with government institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners.Prepare technical briefs, reports, concept notes, meeting minutes, and advocacy materials related to child protection and human rights.Support organization of consultations, workshops, trainings, and inter-agency meetings.Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of activities under the EU-funded project and related initiatives.Track progress against annual workplans, outputs, deliverables, and reporting requirements.Support documentation of programme achievements, lessons learned, and good practices.Conduct background research and compile legal, policy, and programme information related to child protection systems strengthening.Perform other related tasks as required by the supervisor.Profile RequirementsBachelor’s degree in human rights, child protection, programme coordination, international development, or related fields.Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in child protection, human rights, international development, or related programmes.Experience working with government institutions, UN agencies, or development partners is desirable.Strong drafting, reporting, analytical, and coordination skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work in multicultural environments.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with database management tools.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.Fluency in English and Arabic.Application deadline: 03 June 2026
