Computer Science Faculty Member

Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Computer ScienceEmployment type: Full timeComputer Science Faculty Members (Assistant Professors /Associate Professors/Professors) are needed to undertake teaching at undergraduate level in a variety of CS specialisations and undertake management and administrative duties commensurate with the role. A preferred field of expertise is in software engineering, machine learning, cybersecurity, physical computing, game development, web development, data structures and algorithms, computational mathematics and discrete mathematics.1- RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:a) TeachingContribute to established teaching programmes in a variety of CS specialisations.Deliver teaching through a variety of methods and have experience in online teaching.Be able to lead programmes and be responsible for quality assurance of these programmesContribute to subject wide curriculum development and as appropriate lead reviews.Design and offer professional training courses in a variety of CS specialisations.b) ResearchDeliver and disseminate high quality research of international impact, publishing in high quality journals and contributing to the research aims of EUE.Attract grant funding to further the research aims of EUE.Engage in knowledge exchange and public engagement/impact e.g. via the media, public events, etc.Work towards being recognized externally as an expert in the field both in academic and with policy makers.c) Leadership and administrative tasksUndertake individually and as part of a team all administrative tasks related to the teaching & learning process, management of examinations, quality assurance and community service.Contribute to academic advising of CS students.Contribute to the administration of CS exams.Contribute to enhancing the employability of students.Participate actively in recruitment activities.Programme leadership and coordination (for higher academic ranks).2- JOB SPECIFICATIONS:o Education:•Ph.D. in Computer science or computer engineering from a reputable university.o Teaching Experience:•2+ years of teaching experience.3- SKILLS:•Demonstrate the ability to make an outstanding contribution to the teaching and learning process.•Ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing.•Problem Solving: At lecturer level it is expected that most matters will be resolved independently and in accordance with institutional rules and regulations in place.•Ability to work within a team•Leadership and managerial skills (for higher academic ranks)•Excellent English language proficiency.Application Documents:-Detailed CV.-Copy of students’ evaluation during the past two years.-List of academic publications, won grants, and postgraduate supervision.-Contacts of three academic references.Additional Information:Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until all positions are filled.
