Engineering Manager (Fin-tech)

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a big picture, hands-on VP, Engineering to lead our transition from an outsourced tech model to a high-performing in-house engineering powerhouse. You will be the architect of our technical future, responsible for our evolution as a comprehensive, multi-product wealth management ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a "Builder" at heart—someone who takes immense pride in writing elegant code but possesses the strategic "blue-sky" thinking to design systems that scale. You will be a force multiplier, leveraging AI-driven development practices to build a lean, elite team that moves with speed and precision.Job RequirementQualifications• Education: Bachelor’s degree in STEM, preferably Computer Science.• Experience: 8+ years of hands-on coding experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally within a startup environment.• Tech Stack Proficiency: o Backend: Deep expertise in Node.js and PostgreSQL; experience with Microservices architecture is a significant plus.o Frontend: Expert-level knowledge of Flutter and Vue.js, with a working understanding of native mobile languages (Swift/Kotlin) to manage the migration / legacy code.• Cloud & Infra: Proven experience managing cloud-based infrastructure (specifically Huawei Cloud or similar) and overseeing DevOps practices.• Tools: Proficient in Git, TDD, and modern project management tools.• Fintech Domain: Proven experience with financial security protocols, encrypted data handling, and integrating with third-party banking/payment APIs.• Language: Excellent professional English (written and spoken).Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Architecture• Architectural Evolution: Lead a "Kaizen" evolution of our existing Node.js/PostgreSQL stack to ensure it supports expansion into cards, lending, and diverse investment funds. • Strategic Migration: Lead the high-stakes transition of our frontend from native (Java/Kotlin/Swift) to a unified Flutter architecture while maintaining legacy native stability.• Deep Integrations: Oversee complex integrations with the Egyptian fintech ecosystem, including banking APIs, eKYC, card processors, and mutual fund administrators.• Security & Compliance: Ensure the platform exceeds FRA, CBE and fintech-specific security standards, implementing robust encryption and preparing the stack for PCI-DSS compliance.• Infrastructure & DevOps Oversight: Take full ownership of our cloud infrastructure on Huawei Cloud. Oversee the DevOps function to ensure maximum uptime, automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD), and a robust Disaster Recovery Setup (DRS). Team Building & Execution• In-house Transition: Manage the seamless handover of technical assets from the outsourced team and lead the recruitment of a lean, AI-augmented engineering team.• Hands-on Delivery: Maintain a 70/30 balance between active coding/architecture and team management during the initial transition / scale-up phase.• Engineering Culture: Establish high-velocity DevOps and QC workflows, fostering a culture of TDD (Test-Driven Development) and continuous integration. Strategic Partnership• Product Synergy: Collaborate closely with the CEO and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into a scalable, customer-centric roadmap.• Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, specifically exploring how AI and emerging technologies can provide a competitive edge.
