Export Operations Specialist – Freight ForwardingCompany: DGX Logistics Department: Operations Position: Export Operations Specialist Location: New Cairo, Egypt Reports to: Operations Supervisor / Operations Manager Employment Type: Full-timeJob SummaryThe Export Operations Specialist is responsible for managing export shipments from booking through final departure, ensuring accurate documentation, timely coordination with customers, shipping lines, airlines, transporters, customs brokers, and internal teams.The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of freight forwarding procedures, excellent follow-up skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.Key ResponsibilitiesExport Shipment ManagementHandle export shipments from booking confirmation until vessel/flight departure.Coordinate bookings with shipping lines, airlines, and overseas agents.Follow up on vessel/flight schedules, cut-off dates, ETD/ETA, and shipment status.Coordinate cargo pickup, transportation, stuffing, and delivery to port/terminal.Ensure shipments meet documentation and operational deadlines.Monitor shipment milestones and proactively resolve delays or operational issues.DocumentationPrepare and verify export documentation, including:Commercial invoicesPacking listsBills of Lading / Sea WaybillsAir WaybillsCertificates of OriginExport declarations and customs documentationShipping instructionsCheck documents for accuracy and compliance before submission.Coordinate with customers to obtain missing or corrected documents.Ensure timely submission of Shipping Instructions and other required documents.Customs & Port CoordinationCoordinate with customs clearance teams regarding export procedures.Follow up on customs declarations, inspections, and approvals.Coordinate with ports, terminals, shipping lines, and transport providers.Ensure cargo is delivered within applicable port and shipping-line cut-off times.Customer ServiceProvide customers with regular shipment updates.Respond promptly to customer inquiries and operational requests.Inform customers immediately about delays, changes, additional charges, or documentation issues.Maintain professional and effective communication with clients.Financial & Operational ControlVerify freight and local charges against agreed quotations.Coordinate with the pricing and accounting teams regarding shipment charges.Ensure correct billing information is submitted after shipment completion.Monitor additional charges such as storage, demurrage, detention, trucking, handling, and documentation fees.System & ReportingMaintain accurate shipment records in the company's systems and files.Update shipment status and operational milestones regularly.Prepare daily/weekly shipment reports when required.Maintain organized documentation for audit and internal control purposes.Ensure all shipment files are complete and properly archived.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.2–4 years of experience in export operations within freight forwarding or logistics.Good knowledge of international shipping and export procedures.Experience with FCL/LCL shipments is preferred.Good understanding of Incoterms and shipping documentation.Good knowledge of Egyptian ports and export procedures.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Excellent follow-up and problem-solving abilities.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.Good command of written and spoken English.Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.Key CompetenciesExport shipment coordinationDocumentation accuracyCustomer serviceTime managementProblem solvingCommunicationAttention to detailDeadline managementTeamworkAbility to multitaskWhat We OfferCompetitive salary packageProfessional and dynamic work environmentOpportunities for career developmentExposure to international freight forwarding operationsPerformance-based growth opportunitiesTo apply: Send your CV to whatsapp
