Plastic Factory Manager Job DescriptionJob Title: Plastic Factory ManagerReports To: Operations Director / General ManagerJob SummaryThe Plastic Factory Manager plans, coordinates, and supervises all manufacturing activities within the factory. This role ensures efficient production processes, optimal use of resources, compliance with quality and safety standards, and continuous improvement of plant performance.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction ManagementPlan and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.Ensure production targets are achieved on time and within budget.Monitor machine utilization and production efficiency.Coordinate injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, or other plastic manufacturing processes.Quality ControlEnsure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.Implement and maintain quality management systems.Investigate production defects and implement corrective actions.Team LeadershipSupervise production supervisors, technicians, operators, and support staff.Recruit, train, and evaluate employees.Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.Health, Safety, and Environmental ComplianceEnforce workplace safety policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.Maintenance and Equipment ManagementCoordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs.Minimize equipment downtime.Evaluate and recommend machinery upgrades or new equipment purchases.Inventory and Supply Chain ManagementMonitor raw material consumption and inventory levels.Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams.Reduce waste and improve material utilization.Cost Control and Continuous ImprovementAnalyze production costs and identify savings opportunities.Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other improvement initiatives.Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs).ReportingPrepare production, quality, safety, and financial reports.Present operational performance data to senior management.Develop action plans to improve factory performance.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.5–10+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing.3–5+ years of supervisory or management experience.Strong knowledge of plastic processing technologies (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming, etc.).Familiarity with quality systems and manufacturing KPIs.Required SkillsLeadership and people managementProduction planning and schedulingProblem-solving and decision-makingBudgeting and cost controlQuality managementHealth and safety complianceData analysis and reportingERP/MRP software proficiencyCommunication and negotiation skillsKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Production output and efficiencyOverall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)Scrap and waste ratesProduct quality and customer complaintsOn-time delivery performanceSafety incident rateLabor productivityManufacturing cost per unit
