French Teacher

Gamma International College is seeking a passionate, student-centered, and highly motivated French Teacher to deliver an engaging language acquisition program aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Early & Primary Years Programme (PYP) philosophy. The successful candidate will foster students' communication skills, intercultural understanding, and appreciation of the French language through inquiry-based learning and authentic learning experiences.The French Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons that inspire students to become confident communicators and internationally minded learners while promoting the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning (ATL).Teaching & LearningPlan, prepare, and deliver engaging French lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework and school curriculum.Foster a positive, inclusive, and inquiry-based learning environment.Promote the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in French.Integrate French language learning across Units of Inquiry whenever appropriate.Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.Encourage active student participation and collaboration.Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, educational technology, and authentic resources.Promote international-mindedness and intercultural awareness.Curriculum PlanningCollaborate with classroom teachers to integrate French into the Programme of Inquiry (POI).Participate in collaborative planning meetings.Develop unit planners and lesson plans aligned with IB standards.Review and update curriculum resources regularly.Contribute to curriculum development initiatives.AssessmentDesign formative and summative assessments aligned with learning objectives.Monitor student progress and maintain accurate assessment records.Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.Prepare student reports according to school policies.Use assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth.Classroom ManagementEstablish a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.Promote positive behavior through restorative and proactive classroom management strategies.Maintain classroom organization and learning resources.Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.Student SupportSupport students with varying language abilities.Work collaboratively with Learning Support staff when necessary.Encourage student confidence in using French in authentic contexts.Promote student well-being and participation.Parent CommunicationMaintain professional communication with parents regarding student progress.Participate in parent-teacher conferences.Respond to parent inquiries professionally and promptly.Support school events involving parents and the wider community.Professional ResponsibilitiesAttend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and IB workshops.Participate in school events, exhibitions, and celebrations.Engage in continuous professional learning.Contribute positively to the school culture.Support accreditation and authorization processes.Administrative ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate attendance and assessment records.Submit lesson plans and reports as required.Manage classroom inventory and resources.Follow school policies and procedures. 3-7 years of experience
