Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.Project BackgroundThe Safe Spaces Project for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response was established to address the increasing protection risks faced by refugee and asylum-seeking women and girls in urban Egypt, particularly in densely populated areas such as Cairo and Alexandria. Prolonged displacement, conflict, and economic hardship have heightened exposure to GBV, social isolation, and limited access to reliable protection and support services. Newly arrived refugees—especially Sudanese women and adolescent girls—often encounter additional barriers including lack of information, stigma, and fear of seeking assistance. In this context, the project provides integrated GBV prevention and response services through safe, accessible, and women-friendly spaces that serve as trusted entry points for confidential support, psychosocial services, referrals, and community engagement activities. The intervention follows a survivor-centered and community-based approach aligned with international GBV standards, prioritizing safety, dignity, and informed consent. By combining case management, psychosocial support, and awareness-raising initiatives, the Safe Spaces Project aims to strengthen protective environments, enhance access to quality services, and promote safer and more supportive communities for refugee and vulnerable women and girls.Duties And ResponsibilitiesProject Planning, Implementation, and OperationsOversee and implement project activities across targeted governorates, supervising field coordinators and volunteers.Develop and execute detailed activity plans in line with the project budget and objectives.Manage, request, and settle expenses related to activities, ensuring cost optimization and financial accountability.Maintain open communication with volunteers across governorates, ensuring their active engagement and participation.Monitor and supervise the monthly tasks of field coordinators and volunteers to ensure the successful completion of field activities.Coordinate with the Business Development department for social media coverage and visibility of project activities.Contribute to organizing and executing major project-related events.Verifying data that comes case workers.Managing the safe space coordinator and the safe space workers as well.Project Documentation and ReportingPrepare and present detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.Develop and maintain forms, records, and documentation to accurately capture all project activities.Set up and organize project files to ensure all information and communications are appropriately documented and easily accessible.Prepare accurate technical and financial reports per activity, as well as monthly, quarterly, and final project reports.Review and edit reports submitted by field coordinators and volunteers to ensure accuracy and completeness.Assist in developing clear and concise concept notes for project components and activities, aligning with project goals and donor requirements.Financial ManagementMonitor and manage project budgets, ensuring proper allocation and utilization of resources.Work closely with the finance team for accurate and timely financial reporting, adhering to donor and organizational financial policies.Track expenses and project funds to ensure financial transparency and accountability.Job RequirementsMinimum of 5 years of experience within development organizations.Bachelor’s degree in social studies, Economics, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to connect with and engage adolescents and youth volunteers.Well-organized and goal oriented.Strong analytical and time-management skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Proficiency in both English and Arabic is required.Previous experience in similar projects or contexts is preferred..Etijah is an equal opportunity employer.
