General Ledger Accountant

Job SummaryThe General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's general ledger, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, supporting the monthly and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries accurately and on time.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.Ensure compliance with IFRS, local regulations, and internal accounting policies.Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit engagements.Support VAT/Zakat and other statutory reporting requirements.Analyze financial transactions and recommend corrective actions when necessary.Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules, where applicable.Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.Support process improvements and accounting system enhancements.Perform other accounting duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional certification (SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred.3–5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting or financial reporting.Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, etc.).Strong knowledge of IFRS and Saudi accounting regulations.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Time management and ability to meet deadlines.Effective communication and teamwork.High level of integrity and confidentiality.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
