About the job General Ledger Accountant Job ObjectiveThe General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and reported in accordance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. The role supports month-end and year-end closing activities, financial reporting, audits, and internal control compliance.EnvironmentInternal: All company departments.External: External AuditorKey responsibility Month-End and Year-End ClosingAssist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Prepare and review closing schedules and supporting documentation. Prepare accruals, Provision, prepayments, and adjustment entries. Ensure accounting transactions comply with IFRS/local accounting standards and company policies.Ensure timely completion of all closing activities according to the finance calendar. Verify the accuracy and completeness of accounting records, investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual balances. Account ReconciliationsPrepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts. Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and provisions. Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Follow up on outstanding reconciling items and ensure timely resolution. Maintain reconciliation documentation for audit purposes. Academic experience required Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. CMA certificate is an advantage. Professional experience required4-6+ years of experience in General Ledger accounting and financial close processes. ERP experience (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) is highly preferred.Knowledge of IFRS and accounting standards.Background in manufacturing or multinational environments is a plus.Computing Skills General Ledger Accounting Financial Reporting Documentation Management.ERP Systems Knowledge.
