Job Description SummaryThe Generator Winder is tasked with inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all electrical and mechanical components associated with the generator's stator and rotor windings. Candidates should possess extensive knowledge of rotating equipment and demonstrate the capability to identify and resolve issues effectively.Job DescriptionWhat will you do:Works with various mechanical and electrical tooling; may operate powered equipment such as stationary belt or disc sanders.Assists in taking and recording various needed measurements of stator or field.Assists in performing fiberglass tapping.Works under the direction of the Winding Work Leader.Completes daily point-of-work risk assessments and safety observationsRecords and reports daily time.Actively maintains a safe working environment, including good housekeeping practices in the assigned work area, and complies with all applicable environmental, health, and safety policies.Performs tooling and parts set-up as directed.Performs Lock Out Tag Out duties in accordance with site proceduresPerforms other duties as requested by Working Leaders, as well as all reasonable requests from the GE Vernova.What Will You BringHigh school diploma or technical college diploma with a minimum of 2 years of classroom training in Industrial Maintenance and Electrical Technology, or equivalent job experience in Industrial Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Maintenance, or Composites Technology.Minimum of 3 years of experience in the power generator industryValid driver’s license.Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts.Ability and willingness to climb ladders and work at heights as requiredAbility and willingness to walk or stand for up to 12 hours as required.Ability and willingness to lift up to 22 kg as required.Ability and willingness to complete a physical and other evaluations for hearing and respirator use upon hire and annually thereafter.Ability to use and read measurement devices such as inside/outside micrometers and dial calipers/indicators.Ability to interpret technical instructions.Ability to comply with all applicable environmental, health, and safety policies.What Will Make You Stand OutTechnical diploma or trade certificate as a winderAbility to pass a drug testAbility to pass a background checkAbility to incorporate teamwork into daily operating and safety work tasksAbility to use and read measurement devices such as inside/outside micrometers and dial calipers/indicatorsAbility to accept feedback and remain calm and effective under pressureAbility to adjust to daily work scope changes as requiredStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organizationWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsIndustrial Winding shop experienceAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: No
