Global Subsurface Solutions (GSS) is a global organisation within Subsurface which delivers high-quality, fit for purpose subsurface technical products to address critical business challenges across bp’s subsurface businesses, including oil, gas and low carbon projects.GSS Geologists Are Deployed As Part Of An Integrated, Multi-disciplinary Agile Squad (GSS-led Or Region-led), Where They Work As Individual Contributors Or Squad Leads ToSupport resource progression and reservoir managementEvaluate new opportunities (e.g. Exploration & Appraisal, Production and Development)Progress low carbon energy projectsDevelop and deploy digital and data solutionsGSS geologists work on clastic deep-water, paralic, non-marine reservoirs, and carbonate reservoirs, supporting all phases of business activity from early access to late-life field management.What You Will DeliverAs an Integrated Geologist in GSS you will use your deep technical skills in geology, your business insight, a bias for subsurface cross-discipline integration, and a thorough appreciation of subsurface uncertainty and risk management, to deliver integrated subsurface solutions that inform business decisions across bp’s global oil, gas and low carbon portfolio.As An Individual Technical Contributor, The Successful Candidate Will Work Closely With Other Subsurface Disciplines, To Deliver High-quality Geological Inputs To Progress Prioritised Business Opportunities. Some Key Accountabilities Will IncludeInterpreting and integrating core, well-log, seismic, analogue, and dynamic data (pressure, production etc.) to develop and refine the integrated structural, stratigraphic, depositional, rock property and fluid frameworks that underpin integrated subsurface products.Developing subsurface scenarios to characterise and communicate subsurface uncertainties and use this knowledge to plan and deliver ‘fit for purpose’ technical products that help inform business decisions.Communicating subsurface uncertainty to colleagues and business leaders will enable the development of appropriate risk management and mitigation plans.Delivering high-quality subsurface characterisation of the reservoir and/or overburden, to underpin exploration, resource progression, depletion planning and reservoir management.Coaching and mentoring, sharing best practice, and seeking input from Advisers and Principal Subject Matter Experts within the company to help innovate and share knowledge to solve technical and business problems.Sharing best practice.What You Will Need To Be SuccessfulEssential experience / skills:This role is for Egyptian nationals only.Experience in exploration, appraisal, development, production geoscience and/or low carbon projects.Skilful at geoscience and subsurface integration skills, including interpretation workstation skills.Skilful at characterising and communicating subsurface uncertainty and risk.Capable at integrating static and dynamic subsurface data.Strong written and verbal communication skills.A collaborative, team-first ethos.A proven track-record of personal delivery.Ability to work effectively in split-site squads.Desirable Experience / SkillsFamiliarity with subsurface interpretation toolkits & knowledge management systems (e.g. Petrel)Familiarity with applying the Subsurface characterisation workflows.Experience of working in diverse global teams and managing stakeholders.Experience of working with new technology, data science and digital solutions.
