GL Supervisor

Job Purpose:To oversee the General Ledger (GL) function and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. The GL Supervisor will lead the GL team in managing month-end closings, reconciliations, and financial analysis, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.Key Responsibilities:Supervise daily operations of the GL team, ensuring timely and accurate posting of transactionsOversee the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial entries are recorded, reconciled, and closed in accordance with the timelineReview and verify journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reportsMonitor the integrity of financial data and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulationsAssist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsCoordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentationProvide support to finance and operations teams regarding GL inquiries and issuesTrain, mentor, and develop GL staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performanceImplement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the GL functionsAssist in the development of accounting policies and proceduresRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldPreferred qualified bachelor's degree or professional diploma such CPA, CA, UKCAPreferred experience in auditing7 years+ of experience in accounting and financial statementsStrong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting standardsProficient in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP), along with MS Office applicationsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in creating financial statements under IFRSStrong operational and implementation knowledge on IFRSStrong leadership and team management abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
