Graduate Open Pit Mining Engineer Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements. The Role A Graduate Open Pit Mining Engineer is responsible for the short-, medium-, or long-term design, scheduling, and safe execution of mineral extraction from surface mines. The role bridges the gap between geological data and live operations to maximize production while minimizing costs and maintaining safety standards. Location: On-site in Marsa AlamContract Type: Permanent, full-timeSchedule: 20/10 working rosterCompensation: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package The Key ResponsibilitiesShort-Term Mine Planning: Assist with daily/weekly scheduling, bench sequencing, pit design, and tracking ore vs. waste movement. Production & Field Operations: Monitor daily pit activities, equipment utilization (truck and shovel fleets), and contractor performance to ensure targets are hit safely. Drilling & Blasting: Participate in pattern design, tie-in plan reviews, and field QA/QC tracking to optimize fragmentation. Technical Data & Reporting: Compile daily production logs, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain strict operational reports. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside Geology, Survey, and Drill & Blast crews to ensure accurate execution of the mine plan.The Requirements Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering.Valid driver's license.0 - 2 years working directly on an active surface/open pit mine.Previous internship experience is preferred.familiar with drilling, blasting, and truck-and-shovel operations.Good at 3D mining software (such as Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, or Micromine).Knowledge in creating pit designs, dump layouts, and haul road paths.Ability to build short-term or medium-term production schedules.
