Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement preventive measures to minimize recurrence.Deliver health and safety training sessions and workshops for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.Maintain up-to-date records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation.Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project management teams to integrate safety protocols into all phases of project execution.Advise management on best practices and emerging trends in occupational health and safety within the power industry.Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.Review and approve safety plans for new installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in a health and safety engineering role, preferably within the power, utilities, or industrial sectors.Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations and standards.Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments and implementing safety programs.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and stakeholder engagement.Proven ability to investigate incidents and develop actionable recommendations.Proficiency in preparing and maintaining safety documentation and reports.Ability to work on-site and adapt to dynamic operational environments.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Certification in First Aid, CPR, or similar safety training is an advantage.
