HSE Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team within our dynamic, growing construction company. The HSE Officer will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, developing safety programs, and promoting a safe working environment for all employees on-site. This role is pivotal in mitigating risks and fostering a culture of safety across all operations.RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop, implement and manage HSE policies and procedures in line with legal and company requirements.Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance and assess risk levels.Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and provide recommendations for improvements.Provide training and support to staff on health and safety protocols, guidelines, and best practices.Collaborate with project managers to ensure HSE standards are integrated into project planning and execution.Maintain accurate records and reporting of workplace injuries, incidents, and risk assessments.Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and developments related to health, safety, and environment.Promote safety awareness and a proactive safety culture among all employees.Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for various workforce levels.Engage with regulatory bodies and ensure organizational compliance with all health and safety legislation.REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry.Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent are highly desirable.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, local safety laws, and best practices in health and safety management.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.Proficiency in risk assessment and safety inspection techniques.Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory documents and safety requirements.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
