Information Systems Department Manager

Confidential · Cairo, Egypt · Posted 2026-06-27

About the role:We are seeking a seasoned Information Systems Department Manager to lead the delivery, operation, and support of the group's core business systems and its data and analytics function. The department spans three areas — information systems, enterprise resource planning, and business intelligence — and serves thousands of users across a head office and many active operational sites. The role suits a senior technology leader who has spent a career bringing major systems live and running them reliably at scale.Responsibilities:Business systems delivery. Lead the implementation of business systems end to end — requirements, gap analysis, configuration, rollout, training, documentation, and post-launch support — and manage the external implementation partners engaged to deliver them. Hold every delivered system to specification and close the gap between what is promised and what is configured.Systems administration and data governance. Own the running state of the group's systems: configuration, provisioning, licensing, user and access management, daily operations, and data retention. Keep licensing efficient and access disciplined across all sites and offices.Enterprise resource planning. Lead the implementation, re-configuration, and ongoing operation of the group's enterprise resource planning platform — master data integrity, transaction discipline, user adoption, and partner delivery against agreed scope — keeping a business-critical system stable and trusted across the organization.Business intelligence and data. Own the group's data architecture, infrastructure, and engineering, and the reporting and dashboards built on them. Turn operational and financial data into insight leadership can act on, and stand behind the quality of the data feeding every report.Leadership. Lead and develop three large teams. Coordinate closely with neighboring technology functions and serve the internal customers of these systems. Education. A degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification is an advantage.Experience. Eighteen or more years in business systems delivery and operation, including leadership of multiple full enterprise system implementation lifecycles through to live operation, and a sustained record of running systems in steady state at organizational scale. Proven command of external implementation partners — holding them to scope, timeline, and quality — is essential. Substantial experience leading and developing technical teams is required.Technical command. Practical, current command of an enterprise platform stack including Microsoft 365 and SharePoint; the Microsoft Power Platform; an enterprise resource planning system, with SAP S/4HANA strongly preferred; and a business intelligence and data layer covering data architecture, engineering, and dashboarding. Depth sufficient to direct the work, judge quality, and challenge a partner's technical claim.Leadership and judgment. Able to plan and govern a multi-section department, manage delivery against scope and timeline, and coordinate across peer functions and senior stakeholders. Strong partner management and the judgment to test technical claims rather than accept them. A clear communicator who translates system matters into business terms.Sector familiarity. Experience in construction, engineering, or another large multi-site operational business is an advantage.
