Reporting to: Group Chief Internal AuditWork Location: Egypt, Cairo, Obour CityRole PurposeTo drive the execution of the approved annual internal audit plan by leading and performing risk-based audit assignments. This role evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls, diagnoses process weaknesses, and tracks the implementation of corrective actions. The position demands robust technical expertise, sharp business acumen, and a deep understanding of operational risks, while remaining actively hands-on and execution-focused.Key Responsibilities:Audit Execution & Risk AssessmentLead Fieldwork Execution: Execute comprehensive internal audit assignments in strict alignment with the approved risk-based internal audit plan and professional standards.Process & Control Evaluation: Critically review business processes, operational policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance frameworks to assess control design and effectiveness.Risk & Gap Identification: Proactively identify systemic control breakdowns, operational inefficiencies, governance gaps, and emerging risk exposures across business units.Documentation & ReportingEvidence-Based Working Papers: Develop, organize, and maintain high-quality audit working papers supported by clear, objective, and sufficient evidence.Reporting & Reporting Drafts: Formulate concise, impactful audit observations, clearly articulating the root causes, business risks, and actionable, value-adding recommendations.Management & Committee Support: Assist in compiling comprehensive audit reports, executive summaries, and progress updates destined for Senior Management and the Audit Committee.Stakeholder Collaboration & Follow-UpIssue Validation: Lead collaborative discussions with process owners and department heads to validate audit findings, ensuring alignment on facts and root causes.Action Plan Tracking: Robustly monitor and follow up on agreed-upon management action plans, rigorously verifying that corrective actions are effectively implemented. Specialized Reviews & Continuous ImprovementAd-Hoc & Special Investigations: Support and participate in ad-hoc management requests, special operational reviews, and fraud-related investigations as required.Methodology Enhancement: Actively contribute to upgrading internal audit methodologies, diagnostic toolkits, audit programs, and standard checklists to drive departmental efficiency.Qualifications:Job Requirements & QualificationsEducational BackgroundAcademic Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.Professional Credentials: Relevant professional certifications are highly desirable (e.g., CIA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, CISA, or equivalent local/international designations).Experience & Domain ExpertiseProfessional Tenacity: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive, hands-on experience in internal audit, internal controls, corporate governance, risk management, and compliance functions.Industry Sector Focus: Prior experience within the Retail, Manufacturing, Wholesale, or Luxury/Jewelry sectors is highly preferred.Specialized Knowledge: Proven exposure to evaluating operational controls, conducting policy compliance reviews, and assessing fraud risk exposures is considered a strong advantage.
