Position OverviewThe IT Infrastructure & Support Administrator is responsible for the health, performance, and security of Gemma's network, hardware systems, and software applications. This hybrid role combines proactive network and systems administration with responsive end-user technical support — maximizing uptime for critical infrastructure while delivering excellent support to both on-site and remote employees.Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Network AdministrationAdminister, monitor, and maintain the corporate network — LAN/WAN, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, and VPN — to ensure availability, performance, and security.Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows and/or Linux), storage, and virtualization; manage capacity and performance.Implement and maintain network and endpoint security — firewalls, antivirus/endpoint protection, patching, and access controls.Design and maintain backup and recovery for servers and critical data; participate in disaster-recovery planning and testing.Manage user accounts, permissions, and directory services (e.g., Active Directory), including onboarding and offboarding.Monitor infrastructure proactively and respond to alerts to minimize downtime for critical systems.End-User Technical SupportProvide responsive technical support to on-site and remote employees — hardware, software, network connectivity, email, and business applications.Log, manage, and resolve support tickets through to closure; escalate complex issues appropriately.Set up and configure end-user devices — PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices.Administer and support common business and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 and email).Maintain documentation, knowledge-base articles, and IT asset and inventory records. Required Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).[3–5]+ years in a combined IT infrastructure / network administration and end-user support role.Solid network administration knowledge — TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching, firewalls, VPN, and Wi-Fi.Hands-on server administration — Windows Server (and/or Linux), Active Directory, and virtualization (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V).Experience with endpoint and network security, patching, and antivirus/endpoint protection.Backup and recovery experience for servers and critical data.Strong desktop/end-user support and troubleshooting across hardware, Windows, and common applications.Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / email administration and a ticketing / IT service-management system.Strong communication and customer-service orientation; able to support both technical and non-technical users.Available on-site for hands-on infrastructure and hardware work.Preferred / Nice-to-HaveRelevant certifications: CompTIA A+ / Network+ / Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft (e.g., AZ-900 / MS-900 or server/M365 certifications), or ITIL Foundation.Scripting/automation skills (e.g., PowerShell or Bash) for routine tasks and user provisioning.Exposure to IT automation / remote monitoring & management (RMM), self-service tooling, or service-desk chatbots.Prior experience supporting a manufacturing environment.
