Key Responsibilities:CategoryCore ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing & PlanningReview project documents, drawings, and BOQs to identify material requirements. Develop procurement strategies for MEP packages and align them with project schedules and maintenance plans.Tendering & NegotiationPrepare and issue RFQs, evaluate supplier quotations (technical and commercial), and conduct price analysis. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.Technical CoordinationCoordinate with engineering and project teams to evaluate technical submittals and ensure material compliance with specifications. Read and interpret single-line diagrams and construction drawings.Vendor ManagementSource, evaluate, and maintain a robust network of local and international suppliers. Establish long-term relationships and manage Framework Agreements/SLAs with key vendors.Logistics & DeliveryMonitor delivery schedules, coordinate with site teams and storekeepers to ensure timely arrival of materials and manage logistics to prevent project delays.Cost & ComplianceMonitor procurement budgets, control material costs, and prepare cost analysis reports. Ensure compliance with ISO procedures and regulatory requirements (e.g., local municipality standards) Job Requirements: Qualifications & Experience1. EducationBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (Building Services Engineering is also accepted) .Professional certifications like CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are highly advantageous .2. ExperienceMandatory Experience: Proven experience in MEP Contracting and Facilities Management (FM) sectors .Years of Experience: Typically ranges from 3 to 5+ years. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of MEP materials including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems used in both construction and operational facility maintenance.3. Technical SkillsProcurement Process: Expertise in RFQs, purchase orders (PO), tender documentation, and contract administration.Technical Knowledge: Ability to read engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEC, NEC) .Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Maximo) and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) .4. Soft Skills & CompetenciesNegotiation & Commercial Acumen: Strong ability to negotiate prices and contract terms to achieve the best value .Communication & Coordination: Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with engineering, finance, operations, and site teams .Analytical & Organizational: Detail-oriented with strong time management and reporting skills
