Supervision of SubordinatesOrganize and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of Quality Assurance & Food Safety activities is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.Policies, Systems, Processes & ProceduresImplement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.Day-To-Day OperationsSupervises the day-to-day operations of Quality Assurance to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures. Supervises the day-to-day operations of Food Safety to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.Lead the implementation of Quality systems and food safety requirements in the site: establishing and deploying goals; ensuring strong organization capability; regularly tracking, reporting reviewing results with site leadership and upper management as required by Integrated Quality System Ensure site level compliance with Company SOP’s and Company QA Policy and ensure site level accountability and capability exists to: a) Understand and interpret requirements; b) Establish systems that are sufficient to meet the requirements; and c) Assess on-going that the systems are being executed as designed.Develop, implement and enforce security and food safety standards, policies, and programs including HACCP and GFSI, regulatory audits.Oversee proper maintenance and sanitation of all facility to comply with food safety requirements Personally own / lead critical systems and customer-oriented systems: e.g. internal audit, NCR elimination, customer returns, special release approval process, incoming material and finished product release, customer comments, on shelf inspection survey and trade survey in order to ensure on going quality system development. Ensure that appropriate action is taken when this is not the case. Leading investigation of quality issues (customer complaints and NCRs), developing systemic action plans to fix root cause and analyses data to ensure the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can be made. This shall include data generated because of monitoring and measurement and from other relevant sources.Interact with customers, contract laboratories, auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with technical specifications, regulatory, quality management system and customer requirements. Develops and executes food safety training programs for all staff and contracted service providers and strengthens food safety awareness across the site. Develop and provide training in food safety and quality requirements. Develop and maintain documentation such as SOP’s, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures relating to any food safety concern. And ensure that all company food safety procedures are always followed and documented correctly Update existing food safety procedures and documentation to keep up with changing requirementsFacilitate / Lead improvements to our product design and processes to meet customers’ and consumers’ expectations, eliminate defects, manage regulatory compliance risk, and eliminate quality-related losses.Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards.Work jointly with other quality leaders and system owners to ensure common systems that impact quality are effectively implemented (e.g. training, calibrations). Lead the QIS program in order to ensure all the key Quality systems have site-level and department-level owners qualified.Conduct facility food safety audits and participate with department head to establish corrective actions plan for audit observations.Assist with the collecting, reporting, and tracking of the site’s Quality metrics (KPI). Ensure on time reporting of quality KPI to the Management Review Team. Develop and improve supplier capability for starting material quality in line with applicable standards (if needed by site team) in order to improve material quality performance in operation & ensuring that suppliers working with the organization are selected, evaluated and revaluated and maintain records for this process.Continuous ImprovementContributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.ReportingPrepare reports timely and accurately to meet Savola and department requirements, policies and standards.Health, Safety, & EnvironmentMonitor the adherence to all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.Related AssignmentsPerform other related duties or assignments as directed. Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry and any relevant science discipline
