Job Purpose:To oversee and develop the university’s scientific journals, ensuring compliance with international academic publishing standards, enhancing journal ranking and indexing, and managing editorial and administrative operations efficiently. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and implement a strategic plan to enhance the quality, visibility, and indexing of the university’s scientific journals. Supervise Editors-in-Chief and Editorial Board members to ensure compliance with academic policies and publishing ethics. Oversee manuscript submission, peer-review, and publication processes according to recognized international standards.Ensure adherence to publishing and indexing requirements (e.g., Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ, Crossref, COPE, etc., where applicable). Manage relationships with reviewers, researchers, and authors locally and internationally. Prepare periodic performance reports for university leadership, including publication metrics and acceptance rates. Supervise journal management systems (e.g., OJS) and ensure proper technical and operational functionality. Develop and update editorial and peer-review policies in line with international best practices. Propose marketing and outreach strategies to increase journal visibility and citation rates. Manage the allocated budget for journal operations and control related expenditures.
