The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulations, and supporting financial planning and reporting activities. This role acts as a key link between operational accounting and financial management, providing technical expertise, leading closing processes, and supporting audits, taxation, and budgeting efforts.Key responsibilities:Financial Accounting & ReportingOversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and completenessReview general ledger entries, reconciliations, and adjustmentsLead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processesPrepare and review financial statements, management reports, and account analysesMaintain proper documentation and audit trailsAccounts Payable, Receivable & Cash ManagementManage AP/AR cycles with strong internal controls and timely processingMonitor cash flow, expenses, settlements, and petty cashReview and approve employee expense reportsTaxation & CompliancePrepare and review tax filings and computations (VAT, WHT)Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirementsMaintain documentation to support tax filings and reviewsAudit & Internal ControlsCoordinate and support internal and external auditsEnsure effectiveness of financial controlsBudgeting & Financial PlanningSupport budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projectionsPerform variance analysis and provide insights for decision-makingProcess Improvement & ProjectsIdentify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and reporting efficiencySupport automation initiatives and implementation of best practicesParticipate in finance-related projectsStakeholder CollaborationCollaborate with internal departments to support operations and reportingAct as liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodiesQualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum of 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a law firm.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reportingExperience with ERP/accounting systemsAdvanced Excel skillsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
