Job SummaryThe Senior Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense transactions. The role supports the Accounts Payable function by maintaining vendor accounts, ensuring compliance with financial policies, assisting with month-end closing activities, and contributing to effective financial control and cash management.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and verify vendor invoices, payment requests, and employee expense claims accurately and on time.Ensure invoices are matched with purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documentation before processing.Prepare payment batches and coordinate with the treasury team to ensure timely vendor payments.Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with internal departments and suppliers.Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including AP reconciliations and accruals.Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), and tax regulations, including VAT.Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor master data and accounts payable records.Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls to minimize payment errors, duplicate invoices, and fraud risks.Prepare AP reports, aging analysis, and other financial reports as required.Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and responding to audit inquiries.Coordinate with procurement, finance, and other departments to ensure smooth invoice processing and issue resolution.Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and contribute to automation and efficiency initiatives.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.4–7 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably within a corporate, trading, or manufacturing environment.Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plus.Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, accounting principles, and financial controls.Experience processing multi-currency transactions (USD, EUR, and local currency).Familiarity with banking instruments such as Letters of Guarantee (LGs) is an advantage.Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
