What You’ll DoData Engineer specializes in the design and development of the ETL environment, processes, programs, and scripts to acquire data from source systems and apply the data to the tables in the database. Working as the Data Engineer within the Managed Services team supporting one of Teradata’s premier accounts, this individual must have the skills necessary to understand the overall data warehouse architecture. The Data Engineer designs and builds the ETL environment with the specific toolset required by the client. The DI Consultant participates in making decisions on database design and overall solution architecture to maximize operational availability of the customer’s environment. You will be required to do the below tasks successfully: -Capture ETL RequirementsDesign, develop, test, support processes for extracting, transforming and loading data from source systems to DWH and Data MartsMaximize environment availability through design and deployment of robust operational processes. Ability to write performant Teradata database scripts (TPT, BTEQ)Operationalize all Data Integration processes to maximize process robustness. Design the processes to meet service level agreements for data timeliness and frequency. Analyze and improve query and solution performance. Ability to optimize physical data models as required. Building dynamic framework to compare between different layers of data. Creates and maintains all required documentation (BRD, Designs, Unit Test, UAT …. etc. )Mentoring and coaching junior team membersWho You’ll Work WithYou will work with Managed Services team supporting one of Teradata’s premier accounts in Military and Governmental sector in Egypt. You will report to Managed Services Technical Delivery Manager What Makes You a Qualified CandidateIn depth knowledge of DWH conceptsIn depth knowledge of the Microsoft Excel toolIn depth knowledge of Teradata RDBMS although other enterprise relational database knowledge will be consideredIn depth knowledge of one of the enterprise strengths ETL tools i. e. Informatica. Experience in implementing ETL solutions for large, enterprise-grade customers. In depth knowledge of one of the enterprise strengths BI tools i. e. MS Power BI. Egyptian NationalWhat You’ll BringGood knowledge of Linux Commands and Shell ScriptingVery Good Knowledge of NiFi Scheduler Tool.
