Basic ResponsibilityThe Regulatory Affairs Senior Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all products comply with local, regional, and international food safety and regulatory standards, facilitating market access and maintaining certifications. This role prepares and manages regulatory documentation, monitors changes in laws and regulations, and provides guidance to internal teams to ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle.Main Tasks Duties include, but are not limited to the following:Ensure all products comply with relevant regional, and international food safety and regulatory standards.Prepare, manage, and maintain regulatory documentation, including product dossiers, certifications, safety data sheets, technical specifications, and ingredient declarations.Monitor and analyze changes in food safety laws and regulations, assess their impact on products and practices, and implement/suggest necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and certification organizations, addressing inquiries, facilitating inspections, and ensuring audit readiness.Review and approve product labels and packaging to ensure compliance with labeling regulations, including ingredients, nutrition facts, claims, and export-oriented packaging requirements.Identify, evaluate, and resolve regulatory risks proactively, preventing potential penalties or disruptions to market access.Provide regulatory guidance and training to internal teams (e.g., R&D, production, marketing), supporting the integration of compliance requirements into product development and launches.Collaborate with suppliers, co-packers, and distributors to ensure regulatory compliance throughout the supply chain, including conducting compliance checks and coordinating certifications.Support sustainability initiatives by aligning products and processes with environmental and sustainable production standards, contributing to the achievement of certifications.Maintain accurate and up-to-date regulatory records, ensuring seamless compliance during audits and inspections and supporting company readiness for market requirements.Required ProfileEducation Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Biotechnology, or a related field. Advanced certifications in regulatory affairs are a plus.Experience5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, of which 2 years in the agri-food industry with exposure to sustainable products and export markets.
