For A Mega Project in Hurghada , The Senior Structural Technical Office Engineer is responsible for overseeing all technical, engineering, and administrative tasks within the structural technical office. This role involves reviewing design drawings, preparing shop drawings, calculating quantities, managing submittals, and providing technical support to the site construction team. The senior engineer ensures that all structural works comply with contract documents, project specifications, and local building codes.1. Technical Review & Shop DrawingsReview and validate structural design drawings, tender documents, and specifications Supervise and prepare detailed structural shop drawings (including formwork plans, sections, and structural details) using AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM software.Oversee the generation of accurate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for reinforced concrete elements.Resolve structural design conflicts by raising and tracking Requests for Information (RFIs) to the consultant or client.2. Quantity Surveying & Cost EstimationPerform precise quantity take-offs for all structural materials (concrete, steel reinforcement, excavation, formwork, etc.) for procurement and invoicing.Assist the procurement team by providing technical specifications and material quantities for purchasing.3. Submittals & ApprovalsPrepare, review, and manage technical submittals, including material data sheets, method statements, and structural shop drawings for consultant/client approval.Ensure all material and drawing approvals align with the project master schedule to prevent site delays.4. Site Support & CoordinationCoordinate extensively with the site execution team, MEP technical office, and architectural engineers to ensure fully integrated shop drawings.Provide technical engineering support to site superintendents and construction managers to solve on-site structural issues.Conduct structural analysis or minor design modifications for temporary works when required. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in a technical office role, specifically overseeing reinforced concrete construction, from foundations to superstructure. focusing on structural components of large-scale building or infrastructure projects. Technical SkillsProficiency in CAD and BIM software (AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit is highly preferred).Familiarity with structural analysis software Advanced skills in MS Excel for quantity surveying and data analysis.Deep knowledge of local and international structural design codes Soft SkillsStrong leadership, mentorship, and team-management abilities.Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interfacing with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Exceptional time-management skills to handle tight project deadlines
