As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional team of backend, frontend, and mobile engineers to design, build, and scale mission critical systems powering our BNPL and digital credit products. You’ll balance hands-on technical leadership with team development, ensuring delivery speed, architectural soundness, and product quality in a fast-paced fintech environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and grow a team of software engineers through mentorship, hiring, and structured career development. Partner with Product, Data, and Risk teams to design scalable architectures supporting credit, payments, and merchant integrations.Oversee end-to-end delivery — from technical design and code reviews to deployment and post-launch reliability.Drive engineering excellence through process optimization, automated testing, and continuous delivery best practices.Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and fintech regulatory Standards.Collaborate with the Head Of Engineering and CTO on technology roadmaps and build-vs-buy decisions to accelerate product evolution. Monitor, analyze, and improve system performance, ensuring low latency, high availability, and data integrity across services. Requirements8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role. Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, and developing high-performing engineers. Deep understanding of backend service design, distributed systems, and API driven architectures.Experience building finance-related platforms (e.g., BNPL, lending, payments, or digital banking).Strong command of modern tech stacks (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, or Go).Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), caching systems, and event-driven architectures.Practical knowledge of PCI DSS, KYC, data privacy, and payment system integrations.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of delivering in agile environments. Nice to Have Hands-on experience with credit risk or underwriting systems.Exposure to modern data and analytics ecosystems (e.g., Kafka, ..).Cloud environments experience (preferably AWS)Interest in technical leadership development, architecture councils, or platform engineering.
