The company has extensive expertise in swimming pool engineering and water feature design, providing innovative and sustainable solutions for residential, commercial, and recreational facilities.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time remote role for a Structural Engineer specializing in Steel Structures and PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings) design. The Structural Engineer will perform detailed calculations, conduct structural analysis, and ensure designs comply with industry codes and standards. Responsibilities include collaborating with project teams, reviewing designs for safety and efficiency, creating high-quality CAD drawings, and applying engineering principles to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform structural analysis and design of steel structures, with a strong emphasis on PEB systems, steel frames, bracing systems, and connections in accordance with U.S. design codes.Design and analyze steel buildings, industrial facilities, warehouses, and low- to mid-rise structures, including gravity and lateral force-resisting systems.Develop, review, and revise structural drawings, calculations, and technical reports for steel and PEB projects.Create, analyze, and verify structural models using industry-standard software (ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD, or similar).Coordinate with senior engineers to resolve steel design challenges, constructability issues, and optimization strategies.Review work prepared by junior engineers and provide technical guidance, particularly in steel and PEB design.Ensure constructability, detailing accuracy, and quality of steel structure designs.Apply value engineering principles to optimize steel weight, connection design, and overall building efficiency.Assist in planning and delivering project engineering packages on schedule.Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, MEP, industrial) to ensure proper integration of steel structural systems.Maintain organized project documentation and comply with internal QA/QC procedures.Qualifications2-6 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with significant experience in steel structures and PEB design.Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a governmental (public) university.Master’s degree is a plus.Strong understanding of steel structural behavior, load paths, connection design, and lateral systems.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for steel detailing and coordination.Strong working knowledge of U.S. design codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC (360 & 341), and ACI (for foundations).Hands-on experience with structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, Mathcad, STAAD, or similar.Familiarity with PEB systems, framing concepts, secondary members, and cladding support design is highly preferred.Good command of English (written and spoken).Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with U.S.-based teams.FE Exam required; PE licensure or progress toward licensure is a plus.Experience mentoring junior engineers is preferred.Preferred: current or former university teaching staff member.
