Technical Director – Digital Experience & AEM DeliveryAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise digital experiences across a portfolio of regional, multi-brand automotive websites built on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), together with a suite of associated in-showroom digital applications. This is a senior leadership position accountable for the performance of a multidisciplinary delivery team spanning software engineering, quality assurance, and content/CMS authoring. You will own technical strategy, delivery governance, and day-to-day operational excellence, while serving as the senior technical point of contact for client stakeholders across multiple markets.Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery Leadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, QA specialists, and CMS/content authors across concurrent workstreams.Define team structure, capacity planning, and resourcing to meet delivery commitments and service-level expectations.Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous professional development across all disciplines.Own delivery governance, including sprint planning, prioritization, risk management, and reporting to client and internal stakeholders.AEM Content Operations & Editorial ManagementOversee the creation, update, and maintenance of editorial, campaign, and product pages across multiple regional websites.Govern news/article publishing, content archival, and ongoing content hygiene in line with brand guidelines.Direct the management of offers, competitions, campaigns, and lead/feedback forms, along with brochures, galleries, and downloadable assets.Oversee dealer and showroom page management, including pricing updates, location and timing information, and model details across markets.Ensure effective use of AEM native tooling and components, including sheet-based management (e.g., offers hubs, service pricing, service contracts, accessories) and eCommerce content.Oversee vehicle landing pages, configurator pages, kiosk pages, and car model data authoring and setup.Digital Asset Management (DAM)Oversee the upload, structuring, and organization of images, video, and documents within the DAM.Ensure assets are optimized for performance and structured for reuse across markets and pages.Govern brochure and model-year asset lifecycles.Product Information Management (PIM)Direct authoring and maintenance of centralized model data, including model-year updates, new model rollouts, spec and price updates, and grade/version removals.Coordinate model rollouts from global master data sources into regional markets.Enable compare, configurator, and prices-and-specs pages using PIM-driven data.Ensure accurate, centralized, and reusable product data across all markets.Forms, Lead Management & Feature EnablementOversee creation and maintenance of campaign, lead, feedback, and dealer forms, ensuring correct data capture and visibility per campaign requirements.Prioritize and enable new features across markets based on business requirements and availability.Digital Services & Web ApplicationsOwn the maintenance, performance, and enhancement of in-showroom web applications (e.g., showroom and digital-table experiences) to meet brand and UX standards.Oversee version control, release management, and update communication to market users.Drive feature enhancements and UX improvements based on usage patterns and stakeholder feedback for a seamless in-showroom digital journey.Ensure application content stays aligned with website, AEM, and PIM data sources, including model-year, offer, and price updates.Oversee AEM integration and content synchronization for digital-table experiences where applicable.SEO, Performance & QualityOversee implementation of SEO recommendations and technical monitoring across the web estate.Ensure delivered work meets performance, accessibility, and quality benchmarks through robust QA processes.Localization & Market EnablementOversee new market setup and the localization of pages, assets, and product data.Ensure market-specific content variations are delivered accurately and consistently.Client Engagement & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the senior technical point of contact for client and market stakeholders.Establish training, adoption, and feedback-governance processes for market users.Communicate updates, enhancements, and roadmaps to stakeholders, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Qualifications10+ years of experience in digital delivery, web engineering, or technical program management, including 3+ years in a technical leadership or director-level role.Proven experience leading delivery on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) at enterprise scale, ideally across multi-market or multi-brand environments.Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary teams spanning engineering, QA, and content operations.Strong track record of delivery governance, stakeholder management, and operating within service-level agreements.Experience with DAM and PIM systems and their integration into a content delivery ecosystem.Experience overseeing custom web application maintenance and enhancement.Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.Technical SkillsContent Management & AEMDeep understanding of Adobe Experience Manager (Sites, Assets, and authoring
