Job SummaryThe Technical Office Engineer – Light Current is responsible for the technical design, engineering, tendering, and technical office activities for ELV (Extra Low Voltage) and Light Current systems throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves preparing technical proposals, shop drawings, material submittals, BOQs, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards. The engineer will also provide technical support to site teams, coordinate with consultants, suppliers, and clients, and ensure the successful execution of projects while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Design & Engineering Review project specifications, tender documents, and client requirements to fully understand project scope. Prepare complete technical designs for Light Current (ELV) systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable codes. Design and coordinate solutions for: Structured Cabling Systems Fire Alarm Systems CCTV Systems Access Control Systems Public Address & Voice Evacuation Systems Telephone Systems Network Infrastructure (Passive & Active) Audio Visual (AV) Systems Intrusion Detection Systems Building Management System (BMS) interfaces (when applicable) Technical Office Activities Prepare detailed shop drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), schematic diagrams, layout drawings, and as-built drawings. Prepare technical submittals, material approvals, compliance sheets, and product data sheets. Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quantity take-offs, and material schedules. Prepare value engineering proposals and recommend cost-effective technical solutions. Review consultant comments and revise drawings and submittals accordingly. Ensure all technical documentation complies with consultant and client requirements.Tendering & Cost Estimation Prepare technical and commercial proposals for tenders. Obtain quotations from suppliers and evaluate technical offers. Compare vendors based on technical compliance and commercial aspects. Prepare cost estimates, pricing sheets, and budget analysis.Project Coordination Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and planning teams. Attend technical coordination meetings with consultants, clients, and subcontractors. Resolve technical issues arising during project execution. Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover.Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and project specifications. Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure installation quality. Support testing, commissioning, and final acceptance procedures. Prepare technical reports and maintain proper engineering documentation.Leadership & Continuous Improvement Mentor junior technical office engineers and provide technical guidance. Participate in design reviews and technical workshops. Identify opportunities for process improvements and engineering optimization. Stay updated on emerging ELV technologies and industry best practices.RequirementsJob Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of proven experience in Technical Office Engineering for Light Current (ELV) systems. Willingness and ability to work on-site in North Sinai.Technical KnowledgeStrong hands-on experience in: Fire Alarm Systems CCTV Systems Access Control Systems Structured Cabling Systems Telephone Systems Public Address & Voice Evacuation Systems Network Infrastructure (Passive & Active) Audio Visual (AV) Systems BOQ preparation and quantity surveying Shop drawings and technical submittals Tendering and cost estimation Testing and commissioning supportSoftware Skills Excellent command of AutoCAD. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Good knowledge of Microsoft Visio. Experience with Revit MEP and BIM coordination is an advantage.
