Our dedication to inclusion strengthens our workforce and helps drive our business forward, enriching both PepsiCo and the communities in North Africa.The Utilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the continuous, efficient, and reliable operation of all plant utility systems, including boilers, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, water treatment units, and wastewater systems.The role supports production by providing uninterrupted utilities, improving efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and ensuring full compliance with PepsiCo safety and quality standards.Responsibilities Operations & MonitoringEnsure daily operation, monitoring, and control of utilities systems (steam, air, HVAC, chilled water, refrigeration, WWTP,….etc).Track utilities KPIs such as energy consumption, water usage, steam efficiency, and specific power consumption.Monitor SCADA systems and respond to alarms and deviations. Preventive & Corrective MaintenanceDevelop and implement preventive maintenance plans for utilities equipment.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures in utilities equipment.Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely execution of corrective actions. SAP PM & Maintenance ManagementCreate, update, and close notifications and work orders through SAP PM.Ensure accurate logging of maintenance activities, spare parts consumption, and equipment history.Analyze SAP PM reports to track breakdown frequency, MTTR, MTBF, and plan PM compliance.Support maintenance planning by identifying required spare parts and raising purchase requisitions. Reliability & Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to reduce energy and water consumption.Improve equipment reliability through root cause analysis (RCA) and proactive actions.Support new utilities projects, upgrades, and capacity expansions. Safety, Compliance & DocumentationEnsure full compliance with PepsiCo GEHSMS, ISO,FM Global, and regulatory standards.Maintain all utilities documentation (SOPs, logs, calibration records, permits).Conduct risk assessments and support process safety management (PSM). Cross-functional SupportProvide utilities support during production shutdowns/startups.Coordinate with Production, Quality, EHS, and Engineering Departments.Manage external vendors and contractors for utilities systems.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.1–3 years of experience in utilities systems (FMCG or food & beverage preferred).Strong knowledge of:Boilers & steam systemsAir compressorsChillers & refrigeration systemsHVAC & cooling towersWater treatment (RO, softening, filtration)Wastewater treatment
