Visitor Services Assistant should become familiar with Museum members and Patrons and promote membership to visitors.DutiesThe Visitor Services Assistant position is primarily a customer service and front desk support position Duties include but are not limited to:Performing opening and/or closing proceduresGreeting visitors and providing informationMonitoring Security cameras and alerting staff when neededTaking cash and credit card payments from visitors to the museumTaking cash and credit card payments from the Museum StoreAnswering and disseminating phone calls and disseminating messagesReceiving mail and other shipments and assuring the correct party receives them.Assuring repair people sign the register and proper personnel are notifiedMaintaining awareness of Emergency proceduresAssisting with Facility rentals as neededAssisting with fundraisers and other programming that requires a team effortAlerting management of important visitorsThe Museum employs one Visitor Services Assistant (10 hours per week) supports the Visitor Services Associate, working Tuesday 3:00-7:00 PM and Saturday 10:00-4:00 PM, with options for extra hours for events, under the supervision of the Director of Operations and Outreach.
