The British University in Egypt (BUE) is a private university in El Sherouk City on the Suez Desert Road, east of Cairo, founded in 2005. It operates within the framework of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities and the United Kingdom's Quality Assurance Agency, and delivers UK-validated degrees through partnerships with British universities. Students who complete a validated programme and meet the validating university's quality standards receive two awards — one from the BUE, validated by the SCU, and a second from the UK partner university. Dentistry and Pharmacy are the exceptions to the dual award.
