Accountant (Relocation to Iraq - Erbil)

Relocation note: This is a full-time onsite role based in Iraq - Erbil city.Role OverviewThe Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, supporting reporting cycles, and ensuring accuracy across general ledger, reconciliations, and closing activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance, supporting audits, and driving efficient financial processes across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial ReportingPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsEnsure timely and accurate financial reportingGeneral Ledger ManagementMaintain the general ledger and perform regular account reconciliationsMonth End and Year End ClosingSupport and oversee month end and year end closing activitiesEnsure timely completion of all financial tasksBank ReconciliationsReconcile bank statements and resolve discrepanciesCompliance and TaxEnsure compliance with financial regulationsSupport tax filings and related documentationBudget MonitoringTrack and monitor budget versus actual performanceAudit SupportSupport internal and external audits by preparing required documentationProcess ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencyImplement best practices across financial operationsStakeholder CollaborationWork closely with cross functional teams to gather and validate financial dataProvide support and guidance to team members when requiredEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related roleExperience with Oracle Fusion is preferredTechnical SkillsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, Conditional Formatting, Power Query)Solid experience in financial reporting, general ledger management, and closing cyclesExperience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and cost controlCore SkillsStrong understanding of financial principles and compliance requirementsStrong problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to manage priorities and meet deadlinesBehavioral CompetenciesStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsFluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbalProactive, detail oriented, and solution focused mindsetAbility to work collaboratively in a fast paced environmentProactive, detail oriented, and solution focused mindsetAbility to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment
