The role manages accounting staff and ensures efficient control of cash flow, inventory accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting processes.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to management.Prepare management reports and financial performance dashboards.Retail Accounting OperationsOversee inventory accounting and reconciliation.Monitor stock valuation, shrinkage, and inventory adjustments.Ensure proper recording of sales transactions from retail stores and e-commerce channels.Review daily sales reports and cash reconciliations.Accounts Payable & ReceivableSupervise accounts payable and receivable activities.Ensure timely vendor payments and customer collections.Monitor aging reports and resolve outstanding balances.Budgeting & ForecastingAssist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.Monitor actual performance against budgets.Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.Compliance & Internal ControlsEnsure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.Coordinate external and internal audits.Prepare tax-related schedules and support tax filings.Team ManagementSupervise and mentor accounting staff.Assign responsibilities and review team performance.Provide training and professional development opportunities.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.8–10+ years of accounting experience, including experience in retail accounting.3–5+ years of supervisory or management experience.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.Experience with retail inventory accounting.Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.Month-end closing completion within target deadlines.Inventory reconciliation accuracy.Reduction of accounting errors and audit findings.Accounts receivable collection performance.Compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.Working ConditionsFull-time position.May require occasional travel to retail store locations.Ability to work additional hours during month-end, year-end, and audit periods.
