The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a critical supporting role in the delivery of interior fit-out projects. The APM will work closely with senior project managers and multidisciplinary teams to assist in the successful planning, coordination, and execution of fit-out works. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering outstanding project outcomes.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of detailed project plans and schedules, including setting milestones and deliverables.Coordinate with design, procurement, and engineering teams to align timelines and scopes.Support project kick-off activities, including preparing start-up documentation, client briefs, and resource allocation plans.Maintain all project documentation in an organized and up-to-date format (drawings, approvals, RFIs, submittals, method statements, etc.).Draft meeting agendas and minutes; follow up on action items to ensure timely completion.Track all correspondence between client, contractors, suppliers, and consultants.Act as the first point of contact for contractors and vendors under the direction of the Project Manager.Schedule and participate in coordination meetings with clients, designers, engineers, and contractors.Assist in managing client expectations and communicating project updates and risks proactively.Conduct frequent site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, and adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.Identify and report deviations from design or scope early to minimize impact on timeline or cost.Assist in the resolution of on-site issues, technical clarifications, and construction challenges.Support procurement by tracking material approvals, delivery schedules, and vendor commitments.Help manage the project budget by monitoring expenditures and comparing against baseline costs.Assist in the preparation of cost reports and variation logs.Verify that works executed on-site align with project specifications and quality benchmarks.Participate in mock-up inspections, material approvals, and handover snagging processes.Prepare punch lists and track completion of snag items.Support in compiling final handover documentation including O&M manuals, as-built drawings, warranties, and compliance certificates.Assist in organizing final inspections, client walkthroughs, and obtaining completion certificates.Participate in lessons-learned and post-project reviews to contribute to continuous improvement.Skills and QualificationsDegree in related subject (BSc Construction or Project management)Experience in pre and post contract in fit-out projects, ideally for hospitality projectsStrong problem solving and critical thinking skills.Ability to lead and manage a project team.Understanding of project management methodologies and toolsStrong multi-tasking abilities and organizational skillsHands-on approach is a mustUnderstanding of regional business culture and regulations.The ability to understand and make use of computers and information technology (Knight Frank internal systems).Software: Microsoft Office programs to an advanced/proficient level.Language skills: Fluency in English, written and verbal. Fluency in Arabic or other languages is advantageous.Strong organizational skills
