Learn more at www.dar.com.Job Purpose: Contribute to the design, development, and operational support of aviation infrastructure systems — including baggage handling systems (BHS), security screening systems, cargo material handling systems, and passenger boarding bridges (PBBs). The role supports delivery across project phases, from design package preparation to system integration and performance monitoring, with responsibilities scaling with experience level. Key Responsibilities: Assist in or lead the preparation of complete design packages for aviation systems, including system layout development, equipment sizing, and schematic drawings. Coordinate aviation systems with terminal design, structural, electrical, IT, and related disciplines. Apply and ensure adherence to relevant aviation and international standards (ICAO, FAA, IATA, NFPA, and local aviation authority regulations). Conduct risk assessments and support or implement mitigation measures. Troubleshoot and resolve design and operational issues, with growing autonomy based on experience. Develop or contribute to preventive maintenance schedules and monitor system performance. Prepare reports on system performance, design progress, incidents, and upgrades. Conduct quantity take-offs and assist in or lead BOQ preparation. Organize and maintain design files and documentation in alignment with CAD/BIM standards. Train, mentor, and support junior engineers and team members as experience allows. Participate in internal design reviews, site visits, and client coordination activities. Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and report on progress regularly. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Aviation Systems Engineering, or a related field. 0–7 years of experience in aviation systems, airport infrastructure, or material handling fresh graduates with relevant internship or academic project experience are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with CAD, BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks), and/or discipline-specific aviation design tools. Experience with system integration and monitoring tools (SCADA, PLC) is an advantage for senior applicants. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Good time management, attention to detail, and commitment to quality. Preferred Skills: Exposure to aviation-specific design tools (BHS simulation software) is a plus. Intermediate project management and coordination experience (for senior applicants). Advanced troubleshooting of BHS, security, cargo, and PBB systems (for senior applicants). Certification in Aviation Safety or a related field is a plus.
