Role Purpose The BIM Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing and managing mechanical systems models within the BIM environment, ensuring design accuracy, coordination with other disciplines, and compliance with project standards. The role supports project delivery by producing detailed 3D models, shop drawings, and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and site teams. Key Accountabilities Participate in implementing technical office policies and procedures. Study the project contract documents (time schedule, project design drawings, BOQ, etc.). Update the shop drawing log before sending the shop drawing to the consultant for approval. Study and prepare requests for information (RFIs) for all missing, unclear, conflicting, or other technical matters that may arise during construction. Review sub-contractors’ shop drawings as well as outsourced shop drawings (if any) and coordinate their approval process with the project consultant. Participate in solving/reporting any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise during construction to the Technical Office Senior engineer for discussion and proper solution. Prepare as-built drawings at the end of the project and handover to the project consultant. Professional use of BIM authoring and BIM Tools to create complete and accurate information models. Hence to enrich BIM models with crucial data and information. Run clash detection analyses to identify potential conflicts between different systems. Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in BIM modeling for MEP works in the construction industry. Proficient in Autodesk Revit (MEP), Navisworks, AutoCAD; knowledge of Dynamo or BIM 360 is a plus. Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting). Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.). Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
