Egypt Education Platform is looking for an experienced and passionate College and Career Counselor to join our team at GEMS International School Cairo for next academic year commencing from August 2026.Purpose of the RoleThe University Counsellor (IB DP-focused) supports students in Grades 9-12, with a particular emphasis on Grades 11-12, in making informed, aspirational, and appropriate post-secondary choices. The role ensures alignment between IB subject pathways, predicted grades, and global university admissions requirements, while guiding students and families through complex international application processes.RequirementsWe are looking for an experienced and passionate College and Career Counselor - IB Curriculum to join our team at GEMS International School Cairo for the next academic year commencing from August 2026.This position is to guide and counsel students through the IB programs and towards further studies and careers after school.The College and Career Counselor will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:Counsel students in SEL needs including school life balanceGuide in course selection to support students' college and career aspirationsCollaborate with the IB Team, ensuring best practice as a professional learning community and provides purposeful leadership of university guidanceBe up to date with and respond to current research about university admissions procedures, programs, and outcomesEngage with all students, to build a purposeful academic and personal profile of each individual studentDeliver workshops to students, teachers, parents on college application process completion, and submission of applicationsAnalyze and evaluate, with the IB Team, student performance data and take appropriate action in support of effective university guidanceEnsure that students have an active and engaged role in developing their university choicesSchedule and host college representative fairs and presentationsWrite letters of recommendations for student applicationsThe successful applicants will have the following:Degree certification in addition to a certified teaching qualification, such as a valid US Teaching/Counseling certificate or equivalentMinimum 3 Years of experience as College Career Counselor in International school settingExperience with Egyptian Ministry of Education, American high school, and IB diploma program graduation requirementsGood understanding of IB courses. Should have actively handled roles in IB requirement & EventsMust have experience in counseling for IB examsAspiration to work in a world class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
