Electrical Design Engineer - Electric Power Transmission | UAE

This includes reviewing and approving design submissions from vendors and contractors, covering systems such as GIS/AIS, transformers, cables, and protection schemes. You will coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients to resolve technical issues, participate in technical meetings. Additionally, you will conduct technical bid evaluations for contractors and vendors, provide site support during testing and commissioning phases, and offer technical support to the tendering department throughout project execution.Work Location: UAE, Abu DhabiKey AccountabilitiesDevelop electrical design packages for smart grid and power distribution projectsPerform load flow, short circuit, and protection studies using industry software (ETAP, DIgSILENT, etc.)Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, and detailed layoutsSupport feasibility studies and concept design for grid modernization and renewable integrationDesign and review MV/LV networks, substations, and distribution systemsIntegrate smart technologies such as AMI, SCADA, and energy management systemsCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design compliance and efficiencyEnsure adherence to international standards (IEC, IEEE) and local regulations (UAE/ADDC/DEWA)Knowledge, Skills, and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering3–7 years of experience in electrical design / power systems / smart grid projectsStrong knowledge of power system analysis and grid infrastructureFamiliarity with smart grid technologies (AMI, SCADA, IoT-based systems)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience working in consultancy or design environmentsAbility to work in a fast-paced startup settingSoftware: AutoCAD, ETAP, PSS SINCAL, MS OfficeStrong expertise in protection & control systems, SCMS, and substation designIn-depth knowledge of IEC and IEEE standards
