This role leads lender engagement from early origination through to financial close, including due diligence coordination, financial structuring, and documentation negotiation.The role also owns the oversight of project financial models throughout the project lifecycle—ensuring accuracy, robustness, and alignment with financing and investment requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesLender Engagement & FinancingSource and arrange long-term non-recourse project finance from international, local, and multilateral lendersInitiate and manage discussions to assess lender appetite at early project stagesLead negotiations to achieve optimal commercial and financial termsNegotiate mandate letters, term sheets, and financing agreementsCoordinate lender due diligence processes (technical, legal, financial, insurance, ESG) in collaboration with internal teamsPresent and align financing structures with equity partners and stakeholdersConditions Precedent & Financial CloseMonitor and ensure timely satisfaction of all financing conditions precedentPrepare and manage waiver requests where required for initial drawdownsExecute interest rate hedging strategies in line with project requirementsCoordinate financial close activities, including documentation execution and disbursement readinessFinancial Modelling & AnalysisOversee the development and ongoing maintenance of integrated project finance modelsEnsure accurate long-term cash flow forecasting across the full project lifecyclePrepare and analyse financial sensitivities and scenario testingAssess appropriate cost of equity and target returnsEvaluate project economics and performance metrics, including equity IRR, LCOE, and other key indicatorsDocumentation & Stakeholder SupportProvide project finance input for internal and external presentations at all project stagesSupport business development and commercial teams with financial analysis during negotiationsContribute to lender, investor, and management materialsMarket Intelligence & Value OptimisationMonitor market trends related to interest rates, debt pricing, and financing structuresIdentify opportunities to enhance project returns through innovative financial solutionsExplore alternative and blended funding sources, including grants and concessional financeInternal Collaboration & LeadershipCoordinate inputs from cross-functional project teams to ensure timely and accurate financial outputsAct as a key finance interface across departments and geographiesSupport senior management decision-making with robust financial insightsMentor and develop project finance analysts and contribute to capability building within the teamQualifications & ExperienceEssentialBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related disciplineMinimum 10 years’ experience in Project Finance, Structured Finance, or M&AAt least 5 years’ hands-on experience in complex financial modelling using MS ExcelPreferredDegree in Commerce or Engineering combined with CA, CFA, or MBAProven track record of successfully closing project-financed transactionsExperience in renewable energy or infrastructure projectsFluency in written and spoken English (additional languages advantageous)Skills & CompetenciesStrong expertise in project and structured financeExcellent commercial judgment and negotiation capabilityConfident relationship-builder able to lead multi-stakeholder transaction teamsClear and effective communicator with strong interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented mindsetAbility to work effectively under pressure in an international, multicultural environmentAdvanced MS Excel financial modelling skills
