Using state-of-the-art technologies and advanced software, CiviTech focuses on building robust, impactful foundations and infrastructure.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Geotechnical Engineer role based in Cairo, Egypt. The Geotechnical Engineer will plan and execute geotechnical site investigations, including field testing, sampling, and coordination with drilling and laboratory teams. The role includes analyzing soil and rock data, performing geotechnical calculations, and preparing technical reports and recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, and ground improvement. The engineer will collaborate with structural and civil teams to integrate geotechnical inputs into design, ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, and support project managers with technical input and documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve reviewing drawings, assisting with construction support and troubleshooting on active sites, and contributing to quality assurance and continuous improvement of geotechnical methodologies.Qualifications2-3 years experience.Strong technical background in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology, with the ability to interpret subsurface conditions and assess geotechnical risks.Hands-on experience with Site Investigation activities, including planning field work, supervising drilling and in-situ testing, and coordinating soil and rock sampling.Proficiency in Soil mechanics, laboratory test interpretation, and application of results to design recommendations.Competence in Foundation Design for shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and ground improvement solutions.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related field; a master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering is an advantage.Familiarity with relevant international and local codes and standards (e.g., ACI, LRFD, UBC, BS) and geotechnical design software.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills, with the ability to present clear, evidence-based recommendations.Ability to work on-site and in-office as needed, collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Previous experience in consulting or project-based engineering environments
