Why join us?Cheque clearing teams are responsible for processing the domestic cheques, demand drafts and cashier orders, while returning cheques that have discrepancies in the signature, cheque technicalities or due to insufficient funds.Team is also responsible for the settlement payments between HSBC and the central banks in the operating countries and between the different suspense and transitory accounts within HSBC.Now, Cheques Team is including 30 dedicated employees and still growing.The Opportunity: The Job holder will be responsible for:Processing the domestic cheques (both Inward and Outward),Verifying the signaturesReturning cheques that have discrepancies according to the local law and regulations in Bahrain.Settlement payments between HSBC and the central banks and between the different suspense and transitory accounts within HSBC.What you’ll do: Ensuring that all activities are completed within the cut-off time and that all details are checked properly in a timely manner.High speed and accuracy of processing, checking and approval.Fraud/irregular transactions/ errors are identified, and appropriate action is taken in accordance with procedures.Ensure accurate record-keeping of all transactionsProcess payments promptly and accurately using established proceduresAnalyze payment trends and identify areas for improvement in payment processesEnsure compliance with payment policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsWhat you will need to succeed in the role: University degree in Banking or Finance.Accounting experience is preferable.Good written English and oral communication skills.Willing to work in shifts schedules.Ability to work under the pressure of having short and strict timings.Good Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPointWhat additional skills will be good to have?Very good communication skills and ability to work in a team.Good problem solving skills.Very good time management.Multitasking.Dependable.HSBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
