Job SummaryThe Secondary Plant Manager is responsible for leading all secondary manufacturing operations, including cigarette making, filter attachment, packing, and packaging processes. The role ensures production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Secondary Plant Manager drives operational excellence through continuous improvement, cost optimization, and people development while ensuring maximum equipment reliability and manufacturing performance.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction ManagementLead all Secondary Manufacturing operations, including cigarette making, filter attachment, packing, and final packaging.Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production plans are achieved.Monitor production KPIs including OEE, productivity, waste, downtime, quality, and conversion cost.Coordinate production schedules with Supply Chain and Planning teams.Optimize manpower utilization and machine capacity.Operational ExcellenceDrive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.Identify process bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.Reduce material waste and improve production efficiency.Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA implementation.Quality ManagementEnsure compliance with internal quality standards and tobacco manufacturing specifications.Work closely with QA/QC teams to minimize product defects and customer complaints.Monitor process capability and product consistency.Maintenance & EngineeringCollaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to maximize equipment availability.Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.Participate in commissioning new production lines and equipment upgrades.Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and company policies.Promote a strong safety culture and Zero Accident philosophy.Lead risk assessments and corrective action programs.Ensure GMP, housekeeping (5S), and environmental standards are maintained.Team LeadershipLead, coach, and develop Production Managers, Shift Managers, Supervisors, and Operators.Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.Financial & Cost ControlManage departmental operating budgets.Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.Optimize labor, utilities, and material consumption.ReportingPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.Analyze manufacturing performance trends and recommend improvement actions.Present KPI results to senior management.QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.Experience10–15 years of manufacturing experience within the Tobacco industry.At least 5 years in a leadership role managing Secondary Manufacturing operations.Strong experience with cigarette making and packing lines (e.g., Hauni, GD, Focke, Decouflé, Molins, or similar equipment).Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement programs.
