Role SummaryThe HSE Head is accountable for ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance whilesafeguarding all workshops and premises. This role oversees the implementation and effectiveness of HSE systems, leads risk assessments and audits, manages incident investigations, and ensures robust emergency preparedness. In addition, the HSE Head develops and strengthens the HSE team, fosters a strong safety culture across all operations, and monitors key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.Main Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To) Compliance & Governance Ensure full compliance with Egyptian Labor Law and applicable OSHA standards across all premises, including workshops, head office, school, and boutiques, with specific focus on jewelry manufacturing processes. Establish and maintain HSE governance frameworks, including safety policies, procedures, and regulatory reporting structures. Ensure timely regulatory reporting, permits, licenses, and statutory inspections for all locations. Monitor changes in HSE legislation and standards, assess operational impact, and ensure organizational readiness and ongoing compliance. Safety Risk Management & Audits Conduct comprehensive safety risk assessments for jewelry manufacturing processes, including casting, polishing, chemical plating, stone setting, and waste management. Lead internal and external HSE audits across workshops, head office, and retail boutiques, ensuring timely closure and follow‑up of corrective actions. Implement and monitor safety controls specific to jewelry operations, including PPE for grinders, fume extraction systems, gem dust control, chemical handling, and wastewater treatment. Identify and mitigate office‑ and retail‑specific risks such as ergonomics, fire safety, electrical systems, customer flow, and contractor activities. Review and approve safe work procedures, SOPs, and risk assessments prior to the introduction of new processes, equipment, or store openings.Team Leadership Lead, manage, and develop the HSE team through capability building, performance management, and clear accountability. Define HSE roles and responsibilities across production, head office functions, and boutiques. Drive cross‑functional safety initiatives with production, retail, facilities, and support teams. Implement structured safety awareness and behavioral safety programs for artisans, office staff, and retail employees. Coach leaders and supervisors to strengthen ownership of HSE at all levels. Emergency Preparedness Develop, implement, and test emergency response and evacuation plans for workshops, head office, and boutiques (fire chemical spills, medical emergencies). Coordinate emergency drills and simulations,ensuring lessons learned are captured and addressed. Ensure availability and readiness offirefighting equipment, first aid facilities, and emergency signage across alllocations. Support business continuity planning from anHSE perspective, including crisis response and recovery readiness. Performance Monitoring Define, track, and analyze HSE KPIs (e.g. incident rates, near misses, audit findings, training completion) and report insights to Management. Lead incident and near‑miss investigations using root cause analysis, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor HSE trends and risk exposure across all premises to proactively prevent incidents. Conduct regular inspections and site walks in workshops, offices, and boutiques to assess compliance and behavioral safety. Maintain accurate HSE records, dashboards, and documentation for audits and management reviews.Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on performance data, lessonslearned, and industry best practices. Support sustainability and environmental initiatives where applicable (waste reduction, chemical use optimization, compliance monitoring).Key Requirements Minimum 5 years HSE leadership in industrial or manufacturing environments, multinational background. Proven expertise in compliance, governance safety risk, and safety audits. Experience leading HSE teams and developing evacuation plans. Knowledge of jewelry workshop safety requirements. Strong skills in safety awareness program design and delivery. Arabic/English fluency; data analysis for safety dashboards.Education & Qualifications Education: Bachelors in occupational health & safety, Engineering, or related. NEBOSH/IOSH certifications; ISO 45001 Lead, Auditor preferred.
