Title: IBM webMethods System Engineer Experience Level 5 to 7 years Overview As the IBM webMethods System Engineer , you will be the primary technical owner and subject matter expert for the IBM webMethods platform within the Azure cloud environment. You will handle the end-to-end setup, configuration, deployment, hardening, integration, and ongoing operations of webMethods as the enterprise integration backbone, API gateway, and event-driven messaging layer. This role ensures reliable, secure, and high-performance connectivity across all systems. Key Responsibilities • Handle the full lifecycle of IBM webMethods platform deployment on Azure (including Azure Red Hat OpenShift or AKS where applicable). • Design, install, configure, and harden webMethods Integration Server, API Gateway, Universal Messaging, and related components (e.g., webMethods Broker, Trading Networks if in scope). • Architect and implement high-availability, clustered, and scalable webMethods environments (multi-node setups, load balancing, failover, disaster recovery). • Configure secure connectivity patterns: REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven messaging (pub/sub), hybrid integration, B2B gateways, and OAuth/JWT authentication • Implement security and compliance controls for webMethods • Design and automate CI/CD pipelines for webMethods assets (packages, configurations, APIs) using Azure DevOps, Git, and webMethods Deployer or custom scripts. • Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and optimization of webMethods runtime. • Document architecture, configurations, runbooks, and operational procedures. Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years hands-on experience with IBM webMethods platform (Integration Server, API Gateway, Universal Messaging, Broker) • 5+ years deploying and managing webMethods in cloud environments, preferably Azure (AKS, OpenShift, VMs) • Strong expertise in webMethods architecture patterns. • knowledge of Azure security services relevant to middleware. • Hands-on with CI/CD for webMethods (Azure DevOps, Deployer, Git, scripting) • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis skills in distributed integration environments • Excellent documentation, stakeholder communication, and mentoring abilities Short business travel maybe required
