And that’s where you come in.Cairo, Egypt (On-Site)Job PurposeThe Site Installation Engineer will lead and supervise installation activities for telecommunication and signaling systems within the Abou Qir Metro Project (AQM). The role ensures technical compliance, safety, and timely delivery of installation works, coordinating between contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesTelecommunication installation: Oversee installation of telecom systems including CCTV, PIS, OCC interfaces, and antenna layouts.Signaling installation: Manage installation, Axle counters, and signaling interfaces in compliance with ICD revisions.Interface coordination: Ensure proper integration between signaling, telecom, and rolling stock systems.Documentation management: Verify block‑out locations, schematics, and cable routing; ensure latest approved drawings are used.Testing readiness: Support MIR invitations, dynamic test preparation, and ensure milestones align with contractual requirements.HSE compliance: Enforce site safety standards, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure machinery/tools are EHS‑approved.Progress reporting: Maintain daily site logs, report delays, and escalate conflicts (e.g., clearance under fourth rail, axis discrepancies).QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication Engineering.Minimum 0-2 years’ experience in metro or rail projects, focusing on telecommunication and signaling installation.Strong knowledge of CBTC systems, telecom interfaces, and signaling equipment.Familiarity with HSE standards, risk registers, and installation readiness checklists.Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office.Excellent communication skills for stakeholder coordination.Skills & CompetenciesTechnical expertise in metro telecommunication and signaling systems.Problem‑solving ability to resolve site conflicts (e.g., clearance, missing fences, cable routing).Leadership in supervising technicians and subcontractors.Documentation accuracy for MOMs, installation manuals, and readiness trackers.Stakeholder management to align contractors, consultants, and employer requirements.Performance IndicatorsTimely completion of installation milestones ( installation, telecom interfaces, dynamic test readiness).Zero lost‑time incidents and full HSE compliance.Accuracy of installation records and drawings.Effective coordination with Hitachi and NAT.Resolution of technical conflicts without delays.Work LocationAlexandria EgyptThank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
