Marine Service Engineer – EgyptMackay currently has openings for experienced Marine Service Technicians (MST) with the skills and qualifications below for our Port Said location.Marine Service Engineer Job SummaryUnder limited supervision, Marine Service Technicians (MSEs) are responsible for traveling to the location of the vessel to install, service, and repair electronic and communication equipment onboard commercial ships. MSEs test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as loading, updating, and modifying software. They utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems and make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completion of the service work, our technicians compose a detailed service report.Types Of Equipment ServicedRadarsECDISSatcomsHF and VHF RadiosGPSGyrocompassesAutopilotsSoundersMarine Service Engineer Requirements3+ Years of MET, ET or AT experience acquired in the military a plus.3+ Years of experience as a MSE, MET, or ET in commercial shipping.University Degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.Possess any country or location specific required licenses, certifications, or knowledge.PC proficiency.Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 50 +/- lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in country of hire and pass a thorough background check.
