Role Description This full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role at Matrix Sports Club is based in Cairo, Egypt. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and improving mechanical systems and equipment used across sports facilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and energy efficiency. Day-to-day tasks include developing detailed mechanical designs, preparing technical drawings and specifications, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and supporting installation, testing, and commissioning activities. The role also involves performing root-cause analysis for equipment issues, planning preventive maintenance, and collaborating with operations, facilities, and procurement teams to optimize performance and costs. The Mechanical Engineer will document all work, maintain up-to-date technical records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for club infrastructure and member experience.Qualifications Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to analyze, size, and select mechanical components and systems.Proficiency in Machine Design and related engineering principles for developing safe, durable, and high-performance mechanical solutions.Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating and modifying 2D/3D models and technical drawings.Project Management skills to plan, prioritize, and track engineering tasks, budgets, timelines, and stakeholder communication.Research and Development (R&D) experience to evaluate new technologies, materials, and methods for improving facility equipment and processes.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.Ability to work on-site, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.Familiarity with relevant safety standards, building codes, and mechanical systems used in sports or commercial facilities is an advantage.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
